As you are probably aware there are three or four companies who specialise and do a good job at providing holiday Insurance for divers. Costs vary enormously but the main drawback for occasional divers is the fact that everyone of these companies, provide insurance on an annual basis. This is great if you expect to do more than one overseas trip in a year, but most people don't.
Well that has just changed. We have negotiated a contract with tgic to provide cover for shorter periods of time. This includes, for example, a one week break in Egypt, or even a weekend trip in the UK. Better still they regard Egypt as being in Europe which makes the costs even better. So for example if you plan a week long trip to Egypt on a liveaboard, the cost with Buddy or Divemaster (two of the leading companies) the cost is around £36. If you take the insurance with Sussex Scuba and tgic, the cost is just £18
If you decided to take the European annual package, the cost with Buddy is around £60; with Sussex Scuba and tgic the cost is just £50, and this includes cover for UK diving trips.
You can even add an extension to the basic cost if you wish that will cover you to 130m depth and provide additional cover for equipment etc. If you are also a skier you can add an extension for that!!!
