The ultimate wreck tour -
The best of the Northern wrecks....
the Brothers and...
The Salem Express !! |
| And better still this will aboard the Blue Fin |
.jpg) |
This trip really could be the greatest wreck tour possible in the Red Sea!!!. Not only are we doing the Northern wrecks, eg The Thistlegorm, Chrisoulis, etc, but we are also going to the Brothers, and the Salem Express. This really is "wreck heaven" As well as all the best wrecks the Red Sea has to offer we will also be taking a more qualified dive guide who will provide more detailed briefings and presentations in the evening to give us a better understanding of the wreck before it sank, and the gradual changes since it went down
Not only that we are aboard the truly luxurious Blue Fin. This is new to us and really is a top notch boat. For the people who have been with us before it is similar to the Blue Seas just bigger, better or newer.
With her understated luxury and un compromised safety, blue Fin is 100% quality - combining the best of British with the best of Egyptian. Built in 2005 blue Fin is blue o two's first vessel. At 39 metres she is a 5* Super class cruiser.
The Top Deck creates a small sundeck area. Perfect for catching a few rays in between dives, or hiding away with your favourite book.
The Upper Deck forms the main sundeck on board M/Y blue Fin. Comfy seats and a shaded area create the perfect relaxation area. A small outdoor bar situated on the sundeck is well-stocked with refreshments. The Upper Deck also hosts the well-equipped bridge.
The middle deck forms the main saloon and dining area, along with 2 of the master king-size suites - boasting a king-size bed, A/C, en-suite, mini bar, 21" TV, AV In/Out and DVD player. In the saloon, a large dining table and a 42" Plasma Screen provide a luxurious dining and entertainment area.
The Lower Deck is the main cabin area, holding the 3rd master king-size suite and 8 twin cabins, all well equipped with A/C, en-suite, mini bar and a personal entertainment system including LCD Screen, AV In/Out & DVD Player

The Itinerary
The trip starts on Friday 2nd October from Gatwick Airport. We will be sailing on one of the Blue OTwo Fleet - The Blue Fin. As you can see, this is an excellent boat. It is only two years old and is well fitted out. There are three decks, and a superb lounge and restaurant area. As with all these boats bedrooms are usually comfortable but a bit on the small side. All meals are provided, that is three meals a day. In addition all soft drinks, water, tea and coffee are included. The only expense on the boat is the cost of any beer you may drink in the evening, or Nitrox if you use it (at £4.50 per fill or £60 for the whole week). Again ask anyone one who has been with us, the food is very good and plentiful.
The full details of the route cannot be confirmed until we are on the boat, though it will probably start in the North where will probably dive the Thistlegorm, Carnatic, Ghainnis G, The tile wreck, and the Lentil wreck. There will also be some of the most colourful reefs in the Red Sea around Abu Nahas. After diving the best of the Northern wrecks we will then do an overnight sail down to the Brothers, where we will spend a day diving the wrecks around Big Brother. This area is classed as a marine park and is also prone to some strong currents and this fact, coupled with its Marine Park status, means that the Egyptian government stipulates that all divers must have a minimum of 50 dives. As in the past people who cannot show 50 dives will not be able to dive the deeper parts of this dive but usually the tour guides will provide a shallower and equally spectacular reef dive close to the shore. While we are there if there is time we can land on the very barren and tiny island to explore the lighthouse and share a cup of tea and a hubbly bubbly pipe with the lighthouse keeper - this is quite an experience as the island is incredibly barren and most be a lonely place to live. After spending a day on big brother we will then start a slow sail back to the North calling off to dive on the Salem Express on the way back. This is the wreck of a passenger ferry that sank about 20 years ago. It is still intact and is an excellent dive that must be dived with respect, but it is well worth seeing and diving.
As with all liveaboards we will arrive at the boat sometime on the Friday evening and unpack and have a meal on the boat. Early Saturday we will set sail and have a check out dive later in the day, with at least one more dive on the first day. We will then have three dives a day (4 if you do a night dive) until Thursday, when we arrive back into the harbour. We then have Thursday evening/night on the boat. (This usually allows time for some shopping in town and several beers !!!) Dinner is provided on the boat though some people may prefer to eat in town. Flight times have not been confirmed yet, but hopefully we may have time to have another wander around town on Friday before flying home.

| Insurance |
Insurance will required for all overseas trips. It is possible that you may already have holiday insurance. However most standard policies do not provide enough coverage for divers, and may even limit the depth quite substantially. In addition most specialist companies also insist on a an annual contract which can be too expensive. We have negotiated a special package with a leading insure that can provide insurance suitable for dive trips and also for one week only which significantly reduces the cost.
