August 2006 - The Indianna
This is the second of the much anticipated "UK Virgin Dives".
The plan was to set up a series of relatively shallow dives to show the delights of UK diving to hardened and committed "holiday divers", or newly qualified Open Water divers.
The plan was as the first dive - to allow novices and virgins the opportunity to dive in the Uk on a relatively shallow and interesting dive.
After the usual white knuckle ride aboard the "Midnight Diver" we arrived at the site in 2 millisecods. Our skipper Kevin then had a few friendly words with a fisherman who promptly left us alone. Sailing off while swearing a lot.
The Indianna is classed as a wreck but it is really just wreckage. It is a shallow dive at areound 12m but a very interesting dive as it is a very colourful and interseting reef. We saw several crabs and lobsters, as well as shoals of pouting and several other varieties. We even saw a John Dory which is a very colourful fish. Once again the people who came on this were surpised at the abundance and variety of marine life all being very keen to book again. Sadly this was not possible as there were no spare weekends left for us, and we also feel it is too expensive
