| The PADI Rescue
Diver Course
will expand your knowledge and experience
beyond purely recreational level because
you'll learn to look beyond yourself and
consider the safety and well being of other
divers. Although this course is serious,
it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.
"Diver, Diver…. Are you ok??!
How would you react to a diving emergency?
Can you assist your buddy until help arrives?
Do you know how to prevent diving accidents
before they happen?
|
 |
| These are hard questions that
every responsible diver should ask himself
or herself. Despite the best Open Water training
and most careful dive planning, accidents
can occur. There is probably no worse feeling
than being helpless in such a situation. We
can prepare you to be ready to prevent accidents
and emergencies and to minimise problems should
the unexpected occur. The PADI Rescue Certification
also prepares you to begin your progression
toward the Divemaster rating, which is the
first step towards becoming a professional
PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. Upon successful
completion of this program, you will have
experienced the use of various rescue equipment,
completed drills on panicky and unconscious
divers, performed searches for lost divers
and practiced artificial respiration on the
surface with an unconscious diver. You will
have the confidence in using your equipment
and your skills under different circumstances
and under stress. |
What
will I do?
Rescue Diver training will prepare you to
prevent problems and, if necessary, manage
dive emergencies. During the five open water
sessions, you'll cover: • Self-rescue
and diver stress • dive first aid
• emergency management and equipment
• swimming and non-swimming assists
• panicked diver response
• underwater problems • missing
diver procedures • surfacing the
unconscious diver • in water artificial
respiration • egress (exits)
• first aid procedures for pressure
related accidents • dive accident

This is probably the most fun of any
PADI course. Whilst being great fun
it is also a very serious course as
some very important skills are learned.
Whilst this course does not make a diver
into a professional it is the first
step on the rung. Skills learned here
will be tested many more times on almost
every course after this point. It also
displays a level of experience that
is well regarded at any dive centre
you may dive with |
