The instructor course covers specific goals and performance requirements for the Primary Care, Secondary Care and Care for Children courses, along with instruction on how to structure learning, the requirements of performance-based training, and your role as the instructor in the learning environment. You also learn how to motivate students, evaluate student knowledge, present course content effectively, become proficient in developing students' hands-on skills practice sessions, and are taught how to present an effective scenario-based learning experience. |

| Emergency First Response offers cutting edge programmes in CPR and first aid, including skills like Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) usage, and oxygen provision. EFR programmes are state-of-the-art, action oriented programmes that meet global standards.
The EFR Instructor course is a one day training programme that will teach you to effectively plan and deliver a range of EFR courses, including EFR Primary Care (CPR), EFR Secondary Care (first aid), EFR Care for Children (pediatric CPR/first aid) and a short CPR-AED programme. You will gain hands on experience in conducting these programmes, which you will be able to market to a variety of individuals and groups.
Emergency First Response courses create the confidence to care , and are the perfect complement to the professional dive educators toolset, allowing the instructor to offer a complete package of programmes for their divers.
Please note: we also offer EFR Instructor Crossover Courses for current qualified CPR/first aid instructors with other organisations.
New PADI OWSI Requirement:
Effective March 2009, all new PADI Instructors will need to be current Emergency First Response Instructors or hold another current first aid and CPR instructor credential. Currently only first aid and CPR provider-level training is required for new instructors. As a result of this change PADI Instructors will not only have a higher level of preparedness to respond to emergencies, but will also be better equipped to offer all-inclusive PADI Rescue Diver and Divemaster courses. Having the Emergency First Response Instructor credential gives PADI Instructors another marketable skill set, because first aid and CPR training is in demand outside the diving community and EFR courses are approved by many authoritative bodies internationally. If you are already a PADI Instructor, the EFR Instructor credential requirement does not extend to you; however, seeking out this training and maintaining the credential is recommended for the reasons outlined. |
