A successful first year for
Sussex Scuba Dive Club
The club continues to go from strength to strength. We now have over 50 members and pool night regularly attracts about 24 people. In keeping with our original plan the range of skills and experience is considerable and includes Open water divers aged 11, right through to National BSAC Instructors. We have members from almost all training agencies which is something we are very pleased about as we are not allied to any agency and therefore free of restrictions and politics.
Hard Boat Dives
So what about the diving ! At the time of setting up the club we didn't really know what to expect. We had planned a number of hard boat dives which, when they weren't cancelled by poor weather, were very successful. The hard boats also attracted a number of new divers who had not tried UK diving before. I think it is fair to say that they were all pleasantly surprised at how they enjoyed it. For the cynics out there I should add that they all booked for further dives !! So popular were the hard boat dives that we quickly set up a few RIB dives. These again were very popular and were all fully booked. We would like to book more but we believe it is too expensive and it is better value for money with the hard boat. Full Reports on all dives can be found by following this link
Trips
Again another great success. We scheduled trips to Tenerife, The Scylla, Pembrokeshire, and finally to the Red Sea. All were outstanding success and details of the trips can be found by following this link. Social Events
Only one event was planned for last year and that was the Christmas party. This was a very successful event with lots of pictures of Denise.....
